Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Political Action Committee (API-PAC)
Washington, D.C. – API-PAC released the following statement today announcing its impending formation.
“We are pleased to see the outpouring of support from Indian American physicians across the nation as we undertake this important initiative,” said Dr. Krishan Aggarwal, a physician helping to spearhead the PAC’s formation. “As most lawmakers are not doctors, we must engage legislators at both the state and federal levels on issues important to our practices and livelihood.
“Our new PAC will empower Indian American doctors to do that by pooling our resources and ensuring the voices of nearly 60,000 physicians are heard throughout state legislatures and the halls of Congress. With the mid-term elections less than 80 days away, API-PAC will play an important role this election cycle and beyond to provide strength and unity to Indian American physicians across the United States,” concluded Dr. Aggarwal.
Important facts about the PAC:
- The PAC will be a separate legal entity unaffiliated with the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI)
- The PAC will recognize contributors at all financial levels
- The PAC will be fully transparent, comply with all federal laws and register with the Federal Election Commission (FEC)
- The PAC will be professionally led by a political firm in Washington, D.C. with experienced American advisors
